Though we don’t exactly know what those might entail, this showcase feels like a big deal for the franchise as a whole, so fans may learn about some of the other Resident Evil initiatives in the works, such as the new RE movie or the RE television series.
When Does the Resident Evil Village Livestream Showcase Start?
Everything kicks off at 5 p.m. EST/2 p.m. PST. There’s no word in what order things will be unveiled, but it’s best to arrive a little early to not miss anything.

Resident Evil Village was announced back in 2020 during Sony’s Future of PlayStation event. The teaser trailer (which you can see here) confirmed many of the rumors swirling around the survival-horror game, including its location and that it would follow the events of Resident Evil 7.
Later, Capcom confirmed that Resident Evil Village would “continue Ethan Winters’ story” and that unlike the truncated Resident Evil 3 remake that released in early 2020, this new entry could be the longest game in the storied franchise.
Capcom released a second trailer for RE Village back in September that shed more details on what we can expect, but it perhaps raised more questions than it answered. However, Capcom should pull back the curtain on some of those questions, providing new information on the game’s setting, characters, and lore.
Resident Evil Village is set to release sometime in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Tonight’s showcase will hopefully whittle that broad timeframe down just a bit or — dare we hope — give us something definitive.
