This Risk of Rain 2 guide will tell you everything you need to know about Egocentrism, including its gimmick and a few other tips and tricks.
What is Egocentrism in Risk of Rain 2?
Every Lunar Items has a gimmick, and Egocentrism is no different. Instead of altering your health and damage, your attack type, or any of the other bizarre effects of the Lunar Item pool, Egocentrism consumes random items in your inventory for a particularly strong effect.
Once you pick up Egocentrism, a bomb will spawn and orbit around you and will home in on nearby enemies for 360% damage. At base, up to three can be orbiting you at a time.
This sounds great, but there is a big catch to Egocentrism: every 60 seconds, a random item in your inventory is consumed and converted into another stack of Egocentrism.
It’s worth noting that the range on them isn’t particularly large, so it may be better to use it on melee survivors. Additionally, stacking this Lunar Item does not increase its damage. Instead, each stack reduces the amount of time it takes for a new bomb to spawn and increases the number of bombs you have at a time.
As you’ll be rolling in bombs and lacking in items after just a few minutes with Egocentrism, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got stacks of items necessary for your current build before spending your Lunar Coin on it. It’s probably best to pick it up on loop, rather than the initial stages of a run.
That’s all you need to know about one of the newest Lunar Items in Risk of Rain 2: Survivors of the Void. Egocentrism is just one of many surprises to be found in Hopoo’s expansion. If you found this guide useful, check out some of our other Risk of Rain 2 guides here on GameSkinny.
